It has served us well. At first it was in the kitchen. After a year the handle broke and we replaced it. The new one was a double handle and it lasted the life of the refrigerator. A few years later we had to replace the rubber gasket around the door. And if that refrigerator could talk it could really tell some stories, such as how Rex couldn't walk, but he got up every morning, opened the fridge and pulled out a bottle of milk (gallon) and dropped it on the floor and every morning I woke up to crashing glass and milk everywhere. We even tied a rope around the fridge at the top, but it took Rex two days to figure out to push a chair over there, climb up, remove the rope and crash... What a blessing when milk came in cartons.. This fridge was purchased in 1954 when we returned from the Philippines. It ran all those years. After awhile it ended up in the garage with a new one taking it's place in the kitchen. Whenever we moved we would unplug it last and plug it in as soon as we arrived to the new place and it just kept going. It never did quit, but at last it thought it was a freezer and we came home to frozen katsup, frozen mayonnaise (that's not too good). etc. We went through several in the kitchen but this one just kept putting along.
But, I guess all good things must come to an end.
